Bastille wins the responsible innovation award!

We could give you a long speech explaining how moved, delighted and proud we were to win this award last October, so much so that we started the second confinement on a cloud (well, OK, it didn't last).

But we thought it would be more interesting to tell you exactly what this award is about, and more importantly, why we won it out of 4 excellent finalists!

The FiFi Awards: what are we talking about?

The Fragrance Foundation Awards, affectionately known as the "FiFi Awards" by professionals, are the most sought-after awards in the perfume industry. They are awarded each year by the Fragrance Foundation, an international association where the top perfume companies are represented: from the largest groups to the most confidential houses.

Every year, the Fragrance Foundation (FF) awards coveted prizes in each country: best launch, best bottle, best men's fragrance, etc.

What does this have to do with responsible innovation?

Well, until now, not much. The FF rewarded perfumes, bottles and launches... But this year, the French FF has decided to create a new award: the Responsible Innovation Award, for more sustainable perfumery. At Bastille, we're proud that this breakthrough is Made in France

And to leave nothing to chance, this new prize was awarded by a jury of CSR experts: to ensure that the applications would be evaluated under the microscope and with the right perspective.

On what criteria did Bastille shine?

Among the four finalists (the competition was serious, we assure you!), the jury had to choose the one with the most coherent and impactful sustainable approach. At Bastille, our commitment to the careful sourcing and processing of ingredients, and to the local, responsible manufacture of our packaging, were the deciding factors, as was our membership of 1% for the Planet - which we'll tell you more about shortly. And, of course, it was our radical approach to ingredient transparency that made all the difference!

So what now?

Oscars? We're kidding. This award obviously made us very happy, but it obliges us just as much. To move forward with ever greater commitment, transparency, and pedagogy to explain our way of doing things.
