How to store your perfume?

To begin with, you may not be aware of it, but your perfume is alive. It contains raw materials that play with each other once they are locked in your bottle: they talk, they get a little closer, sometimes a lot - just like us in real life. And for raw materials, the best way to get closer is to create a chemical interaction. For example, historically there has been a big crush between vanilla and orange blossom: these two love each other!

And the ideal dancefloor for the ingredients of our perfumes is a very warm, very humid and very bright atmosphere. So, if you want to keep things cool, we advise you toavoid putting your perfumes on a windowsill in your bathroom. Instead, keep them in a dark place, in their original packaging or even in the refrigerator.

What about natural perfumes?

Bastille fragrances are 95% natural ingredients and contain no stabilizers: they are therefore even more sensitive to light, heat and humidity than conventional fragrances. But don't worry, you can keep them for at least 18 months!Once the bottle has been opened for the first time, the small interactions between raw materials mentioned above do not affect the quality of the perfume at all. They may affect its color, and possibly its scent, which may evolve very slightly over time, without ever changing completely, of course. In other words, natural perfume is like a fine wine: it's best kept away from light, and improves with age!
